Ingredients:
- Self-raising flour - 1 1/4 cup
- Coco powder - 2 tblsp
- Butter (unsalted) - 100g
- Powdered Sugar - 1 cup
- Egg(s) - 2
- Baking powder - 1 tblsp
- Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- Milk - 1/2 cup
- Veg oil - 1 tblspn
- Vanilla extract - 1 tblspn
Method:
Preheat oven to 375°. Line bottoms of the baking pans with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, add melted butter,eggs and sugar.
Add milk to it.
Beat until light and fluffy. Add in vanilla essense.
In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder and salt.
Combine both dry ingredients and egg sugar mixture.
Divide the batter into two equal portions.
Add cocoa powder to one batter and mix well.
Now we have two portions.Vanila and coco mixture
Pour 1 tblsp of vanila batter in the greased pan.
Spoon the vanilla and cocoa batter alternatively into the pan.Repeat this until all the batter finishes off.
Finally the batter should be like this.
For Marble Effect:
Using a knife, make a swirl horizontally in the batter .
Then make a swirl vertically to incorporate it in a marble effect. Don't do too much. If you work too much then you will not get the marbling effect.
Bake 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans 10 minutes
Remove paper and let it cool completely.
Cut into slices and serve.
