For pidi/ dumplings
- Rice flour - 1 cup
- Water - 1 - 1 1/2 cup
For Poori
- Maida – 1 cup.
- Water.
- Salt.
- Oil or deep fry.
For chicken masala
- Boneless chicken - 500 gm
- Onion - 2( finely chopped)
- Tomato - 1 small( finely chopped )
- Ginger – 1 tsp.
- Garlic - 1 1/2 tsp
- Green chillies - 1 or 2
- Red chilly powder – 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 3 tsp
- Curry leaves
- Coriander leaves
- Salt
- Oil
For coconut gravy
- Coconut – 1 cup.
- Fennel seeds – 1 tsp.
Method of Preparation:
Making Pidi:
Boil water in a pan .( for 1 cup of flour, take 1 cup water). Add salt.Add rice flour, stir well. And cook in a low flame for 5 minutes.
Knead it well, and make a smooth dough.Take a small ball of the dough( 1 tsp ) and roll it into a ball and gently press it down and make an impression in the middle with the thumb.
Steam it for 10 minutes.

Making Poori:

Heat oil in a pan and add onion, tomato, ginger, garlic and green chillies.
Add add red chilly powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, and coriander powder and salt.
Add chicken,coconut paste and required amount of water.

Final stage/ Mixing:
Add pidi to boiling chicken masala, Allow it to boil again for 2-5 minutes.
Finally mix the gravy and prepared poori together and keep over low flame for 4 to 5 minutes till it has combined well.
Delicious kozhi pidi is ready to serve.
