Apple Pola / Apple Kums





 
  

Ingredients: 


  • Apples - 2 large
  • Eggs - 2
  • Sugar - 3 tblsp
  • Milk powder - 4 tblsp
  • Plain flour - 1 tblsp
  • Vanila essence ( cardamom powder) -   1/2 tsp
  • Ghee - 1tblsp
  • Cashews - 1 tblsp
  • Raisins - 1tblsp

Method:

Peel and core apples and cut into rough chunks.  Add in sugar, milk powder and eggs.




 Blend them for a minute until smooth and pale yellow in colour. Also add vanilla essence and plain flour and blend until mixed well. 

 
 

 
 
Place a Take a non-stick deep sauce pan and grease it well using ghee. Set the heat to the lowest possible. Pour the batter in the pan. Cover it tightly with a lid and cook for about 20-25 minutes or until the top part looks set. If the bottom and the side part is browning quickly,



 You can place a simmer plate underneath to avoid further browning. Make sure the flame is set to lowest as it browns too quickly if kept on higher heat. 



 
 
Once the cake is half cooked ,sprinkle some chopped cashews and raisins over it. Again close the lid and coo the cake in very low flame.The cake has cooked well. Switch off the stove and let the cake cool for 10 minutes in the pan, before flipping it over to another plate.
 
 
 
 If using baking paper, you can just pull out the baking paper, holding all its sides. Apple Pola is ready. This can be served hot or warm. It should be eaten on the day it’s made and could be refrigerated for the next day use.

Ingredients:

 
For first layer- Bread layer:
 
  • Bread - 4 Slices
  • Egg – 2 nos.
  • Pepper Powder – 1 tsp.
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp.
  • Salt.

For Second Layer-  Chicken layer
 
  • Chicken (Boneless Preferably) - 250 Grams
  • Onion – 2 nos Cooped,
  • Ginger – 1’ piece,
  • Garlic – 4-5 nos,
  • Green chillies – 3 nos.
  • Curry leaves.
  • Coriander leaves.
  • Ghee.
  • Salt.
  • Fennel powder – 1/4  tsp.
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp.
  • Pepper Powder – ½  tsp.
  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp.
  • Chilly powder – 1 tsp.
  • Garam Masala powder – ½  tsp.

Third Layer-Beaten Egg & Roasted Nuts and Raisins
 

  • Egg – 3 nos.
  • Pepper Powder – 1 tsp.
  • Salt.
  • Cashews – 50gms.
  • Raisins – 50gms.

METHOD OF PREPARATION:


Mix chicken with ¼ tsp. of turmeric powder, pepper powder and salt. Cook it for about 15 - 20 mins till chicken is cooked. Shred this cooked chicken by using a fork.
 

                                                        


Heat ghee in a pan, roast Cashew nuts and raisins, Keep it aside.
 

                                                        

 
Next step is to prepare chicken masala, for this heat ghee ( oil) in a pan. Add ginger, garlic, green chillies, curry leaves, onion and some salt. Saute until the onion become transparent.



 


Then add turmeric powder, chilly powder,  coriander powder,  garam masala powder and fennel powder, stir for few seconds.
 



Add shredded chicken and cook till the flavors are even throughout mixture. Sprinkle some coriander leaves and switch of the flame. Now our chicken masala is ready.

 

Next step is to make batter of first layer, to this take all ingredients in a blender, and make a thick consistency batter.






Take a deep pan, pour 2 tbspn. of ghee on the base and sides.Pour the first layer of bread-egg batter, close the lid and cook it. Cook it for about 10-15 mins.

 




Once the top layer is cooked , make the second layer by spreading chicken masala. Cook it for about 5 mins by closing the lid.
 


Meantime prepare batter for third layer, beat the eggs,pepper & salt. 
 





 

 
Pour it over the chicken layer, make sure that it cover chiken masala well.
 


 
Once it starts to cook, decorate this with roasted cashews and raisin. Cook this till the top layer has been cooked.


 
By using a plate flip the cake, again reverse it and put this back into pan, Cook it low flame for about 5 mins.

  
Now our tasty and yummy irachi pola is ready to serve.

 


Cut it in to desired shape and serve hot. Enjoy!!!!!

Ingredients:
  • Banana (Nendrapazham) - 2 chopped.
  • Eggs - 2 nos.
  • Ghee - 5 tsp.
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup.
  • Cashew nuts - 10 nos.
  • Raisins - 10 nos.
  • Cardamom - 2 crushed. 

Method of Preparation:

Take a bowl, add 2 eggs, crushed cardamom, raisins, cashew nuts and sugar. mix well.
 
 
Chop banana to small pieces. Heat a pan,add 3 tsp ghee and add the chopped  banana (nendrapazham) to it and saute for 5 minutes.
 
 
 

Once the banana gets golden brown, add it to the egg mixture.


In a pan add ghee and fry cashews and raisins. 


Heat a non stick pan on a low flame. Add 2 tsp of ghee. Pour banana mixture into the pan and close with a lid. Allow it to cook for 8 -10 minutes.
 



 
When it is half cooked, add the fried cashews and raisins.

 
Close and cook for another 5 min.
 


Flip over the cake and cook on other side.
 

Tasty Pazham Cake is ready.Cut it into slices and serve.
