Fruit Custard Trifle





 Serves: 3 glasses

 Ingredients:
  • 250 grams sponge cake
  • 2 cups chopped mix fruits(i used apple,grapess and strawberries)
  • 1/4 cup orange juice( any fruit juice or puree/pulp)
  • 2 tbsp custard powder
  • 1.5 cup milk(for preparing custard)
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract or essence
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 4 to 5 tbsp orange juice
  • Jelly cubes(i used strawerry flavour)
  • Strawberries for decoration
 




Method:

Heat the milk on a low to medium flame. To this add the custard paste(mix the custard powder with 2 tblsp of milk).

 
Add sugar to it.Bring the flame to low. Stir quickly so that no lumps are formed. Keep on stirring till the custard thickens.




Add vanila extract and switch off. Allow the custard to cool at room temperature.

 

 
For Assembling:

Line half a portion of the sponge cubes in a serving glass. Now spread 2 to 3 tbsp of orange juice on the cake.
 
Now layer half of the chopped mixed fruits above it. Then add jelly cubes and half of the custard in a layer.
Again repeat all the layers, starting with some more sponge cubes,fruits,custard and jelly..Serve chilled...Similarly arrange the trifle pudding in other glasses. Top with strawberries.

  • Make the custard layer again. then lastly make whipped cream layer again.
  • Make the top cream layer. Add some nuts and back raisins or jelly cubes above it.Serve chilled...
  • Similarly arrange the trifle pudding in other glasses. Top with strawberries.
 

Black Forest Trifle





Ingredients:

  • Chocolate Sponge Cake - 1 cup cubed
  • Chopped Cherries  - 1/2 cup
  • Whipped cream - 2 tblsp
 
For Chocolate Mousse Layer:

  • Milk Chocolate - 100g
  • Whipped Cream - 1/2 cup




Method:

Preparing Whipped Cream:

 
Whip the fresh cream together with the sugar and vanilla, until just thickened. 

 

For chocolate mousse:

Melt the the chocolate in a bowl, in the microwave or over a pan of simmering water. 


 



Then add cream and fold it slightly. Chill for 10 mins or longer.



 Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate until use.

  
Assembling the Trifle:

Arrange half the sponge cakes in the base of a large trifle.
 




 
Spoon half of the cherries over it. 

 

Then pour half of the chocolate mousse.


Spoon the whipped cream above it.


 



  
Spoon over the remaining chocolate mousse above it.



Then add the cake sprinkles above it. Or you can use as usual cake pieces above it.


Add the rest of the cherries. You can also Sprinkle with grated chocolate. 
 


Chill until ready to serve

Cherry Custard Trifle / Fruit Trifle





Ingredients :
Serves : 2 to 4

Ingredients:

Sponge Cake - as needed
Cherry - 10 chopped ( use any fruits you like)
Cherry for topping

For Cream:
Cream / Whip cream powder - 3 tblsp
Sugar - 1 tblspn
Vanilla Essence - 1/2 tsp

For Custard:
Custard Powder - 2.5 tblspn
Milk - 1/2 liter / 500 ml
Sugar - 4 tblspn
Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp



Method:

Take custard powder in a bowl. Add in 1/2 cup of milk and mix well. Set aside.


Heat milk and sugar in a sauce pan and bring it to a boil.



Add in custard mix and keep cooking till it gets thick.


Add in sugar and vanilla and mix well. 


 
Pour this into a bowl and cover with a plastic wrap, make sure the wrap touches the top of the custard so when it cools no crust forms on top. Chill this till use.


Whip cream with sugar and vanilla till thick. Set aside.




Take your serving glasses, fill the bottom with cake.
 

Spoon some custard above it.




Top with chopped cherries. 


Add whipped cream above it.


Now top again with cake pieces.


Top again with custard and Finish the top with cream and cherries over it.


Chill this for 3 to 4 hours. Serve chilled
 

Chocolate Trifle



Chocolate Trifle

Ingredients:
  • Sponge cake - 1 cup
  • Instant chocolate pudding mix - 2 cup
  • Whipping cream, whipped - 1 cup
  •  Nuts - 1/2 cup
  • Raisins for decorations



Method:

Cut the sponge cake into rounds balls.

                                                 
Here i used instant chocolate pudding .For garnishing,i used cashew nuts.


Prepare whipping cream.


In a serving glass,first add the sponge cake.


Then add the chocolate pudding above it.



To this add the whipping cream.Here i have added the cream using the piping cone or you can simply pour it.

Then add the crushed  nuts above it.

                                             
Prepare  the second layer  by first adding the sponge cake.

                                           

Then add the chocolate pudding and  nuts.



Finally add the whipping cream. Garnish with raisins and refrigerate for few hours.Serve cool.
