Red Velvet Trifle Pudding With Custard And Jelly





Ingredients:

  • 250 grams red velvet cake 
  • 2 tbsp custard powder 
  • 1.5 cup milk(for preparing custard)
  • 4 tbsp sugar 
  • Jelly cubes(i used strawberry flavor)
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts ( I used pistachios,almonds and walnuts)



Method:

In a bowl mix 2 tblsp of custard powder with little milk and keep aside.
Heat the milk+sugar solution on a low to medium flame. To this add the custard paste.
Bring the flame to low. Stir quickly so that no lumps are formed. keep on stirring till the custard thickens. Add vanila extract and switch off.
Allow the custard to cool at room temperature.

Cut the cake into small cubes.. Chop the nuts as well.
Prepare the jelly and cut into small cubes.



Now the ingredients for assembling pudding is ready.


For Assembling:
Now slice sponge cake into cubes. here i used homemade red velvet cake. Line half a portion of the sponge cubes in a serving bowl.
Spread half of the custard in a layer.
Add in the jelly cubes above it.
Again repeat all the layers, starting with some more sponge cubes.
Make the custard layer again.
Add in the chopped nuts.
Then lastly add in the jelly cubes above it.
Refrigerate and serve the red velvet pudding chilled...

  • Make the top cream layer using piping cone and start to decorate the top layer. Serve chilled...

Muhallabia Dessert / Almond Cream Pudding / Almond Muhallabia / Middle Eastern Pudding






Serves:2 to 3
My Measurements :
1 cup - 120 ml

Ingredients:

  • Milk - 2 cups + 3 tblsp
  • Corn Flour - 4 tblsp
  • Sugar - 1/4 cup
  • Almonds Grounded - 3 tblsp
  • Orange Blossom  Water Or Rose Water - 2 tsp
  • Few Chopped Almonds For Decoration
  • Pomegranate Seeds For Decoration


Method:

Pour 2 cups of milk in a pan and to this add the sugar and mix well.
Meanwhile mix the corn flour with 3 tblsp of milk. Keep stirring till well mixed
Add the corn flour mixture to the milk. Continue stirring over medium heat until the mixture bubbles gently. Simmer on low heat for five minutes, stirring often or till cooked.
Stir in the ground almonds until well blended.
Add the rose water to it.

Remove from heat and stir occasionally till the mixture cools a little. Pour into a serving bowl or individual glasses.
Chill and serve garnished with chopped almonds and pomegranate seeds.

Umm Ali / Middle Eastern Bread Pudding




Ingredients:

  • 1 croissant(or you can use puff pastry)
  • 4 tblsp sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tblsp pistachios, shelled, chopped
  • 2 tblsp cashews
  • 2 tblsp almonds
  • 4 tblsp coconut flakes 
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tblsp sugar



Method:

Umm Ali is made with croissant or you can even use puff pasty.

In the case of puff pasty,Place the pastry sheets in the baking dish and place the dish in the oven. Watch it closely. When the top layer turns crunchy and golden, remove it from the oven. Cut the croissant into small pieces.



Chop the  nuts and keep aside.


Boil milk in pan.

Add sweetened condensed milk and vanilla.  

 



Switch off and keep it aside.

Place the croissant pieces in a bowl(baking dish).. .


Pour the condensed milk mixture above it and set them aside for 5 minutes or until croissant absorb the maximum of the liquid.




Then add the chopped nuts.

Then add the croissant pieces above it.
 

Repeat the process by adding condensed milk, coconut and finally nuts.




Bake it for  15 min at 180 deg.


Yummy Umm Ali is ready to serve.
