Dry ingredients 1 cup - 120g
Wet ingredients 1 cup - 150ml
Ingredients:
- Flour - 2 cups
- Sugar - 1 1/2 cups
- Cocoa powder - 3/4 cup, unsweetened
- Butter - 100g
- Baking soda - 1 1/2 tsps
- Baking powder - 1 tsp
- Salt - pinch
- Milk - 1 cup
- Vegetable oil - 1/2 cup
- Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
- Strawberry fruit jam- 2 tbsps
- Hot water - 1 cup
- Eggs - 2
For layering:
- Whipping cream - 2 cups
- Cherries - 1 tin
- Milk Chocolate - 1 bar( 1 cup shaved)
Method:
Preheat oven to 175 degrees Centigrade.In a large bowl, sieve the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
To this add milk and beat well.
Then add vegetable oil.
Now our cake batter is ready.
Pour the batter into the baking tray and bake it for 30 min at 175 deg.
Once the cake is ready, transform it into a plate and let it cool.
Cut the cake into halves.
Preparing Cream:
Start preparing whiping cream . Refrigerate it .
Preparing Syrup:
In a pan add 1 cup of water,2 tablespoon of fruit jam and 1 tblsp of sugar and boil it until It dissolves.
Once it is dissolved ,switch off the stove and let it cool.
Assembling the Cake:
Prepare cake board by covering with foil paper.Place the parchment paper above it as shown below.
Place the cake above the cake board.Apply sugar syrup to one half of the cake until it is fully moist. (forget to take picture at this step).
Add the cherry pieces above it.
Then place the other half of the cake to it.Apply the sugar syrup over it.
Start applying the cream to all sides of the cake until fully covered.
Place the remaining whipped cream in a piping cone with a star tip and start decorating the cake. Place each cherries above each piped out star.
Dizzle chocolate shavings over the cake.Also apply the cake crust to all the sides of the cake to give a black forest cake effect.

Place the cake in the fridge for at least another hour and serve.Cut into pieces and serve.
