Malabar Kozhi Roast

                          This Kerala-Style Chicken Roast Recipe is one  of my  favourite  in  which the chicken is fried and roasted  with onion,curry leaves and so on... The fiery red color with the flavour of  curry leaves is sure to impress you as well.

  • Chicken – 500g 
  • Onion – 1 big(cut into very thin slices)
  • Ginger juliennes - 1 tsp(ginger cut into very thin slices)
  • Green Chilli – 2
  • Curry leaves – 10
  • Oil – 5 Tbsp
  • Salt
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp
To Marinate:
  • Kashmiri  red chilli powder – 1 tblsp
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsp
  • Salt
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Egg - 1
  • Besan flour - 1 tsp
  • Corn flour - 1 tsp
  • Rice flour - 1 tsp


Marinate the chicken with ingredients listed above and keep it in the fridge for half an hour. 

Heat oil in a nonstick pan and roast the marinated chicken until its golden brown in color. Remove it from the pan.

Heat oil in a pan add sliced onion to it. 

When onion becomes tranparent , add green chilli ,ginger julienes  and curry leaves.and saute for a min or two.

Then add chicken to it and saute for a min .

Serve hot with pulao, rice etc.
